Every Meaningful Journey Has a Next Step
For each of us our faith journeys will be very personal, and very different. But whether you’re just exploring faith or have been a Christian for 25+ years, every one of us has a next step.
We encourage recording these steps for three reasons:
- to measure how we’re growing spiritually
- to celebrate progress together
- to help document our individual journeys
What’s your next step?

Let’s continue to journey together
We believe the steps we take on our journey of faith can be grouped into four main types…
First Steps

For when you’re just exploring faith or are new to Rayleigh Baptist Church:
- Community: finding your place at RBC
- Exploring: early building blocks as you investigate faith
- Committing: some early foundational steps
Next Steps

For when you’re moving forward on our journey of faith:
- Deepen: exploring something new which deepens our faith
- Deploy: how God might want to use us in a new way
- Disciple: supporting others on their discipleship journey
Ongoing Steps

These were once first or next steps but have now become regular practices:
- Gather: regularly gathering for celebration & fellowship together
- Grow: daily/weekly practices which help our faith grow
- Give: participation in the life of the Church family & community
- Go: expressing and sharing your faith to help make disciples
- Gaze: time and focus on God through prayer, praise and rest
- GRAPE: steps we take to embody RBC’s values
Leader Steps

These help us develop as leaders, and help us develop others:
- Equip: steps which will help equip you in your leadership
- Engage: through which you put leadership into practice
- Empower: leading and empowering others
