…why worry about your clothing? Look at the flowers in the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.” Jesus [Matthew 6:28-30]

Imagine walking through a meadow full of wild flowers. No one planted the flowers in neat rows, no one waters them each morning, and yet they stand there – bright, delicate, and beautiful. They don’t worry about tomorrow. They simply grow, because the world around them gives them what they need.

In this saying of Jesus, the flowers are a picture of how we could live if we trusted more and worried less. Life pulls us in many directions – bills to pay, problems to solve, plans to make. But Jesus points to something simple: beauty, value, and care can be found even in the smallest flower. And if something as fragile as a flower is looked after, how much more could we be?

Maybe you’ve never thought about faith, or perhaps you’ve drifted away from it. This passage invites you to pause, look at the world around you, and consider: What if you could live with less anxiety and more trust?

Take a walk this week. Notice the flowers, the trees, the sky.

Ask yourself: If the world takes care of them, could there be something – or Someone – who is looking out for me too?

You may find something that resonates deeply with your own journey.
